Hungarian Tamas Elias re-joins the Fire after a successful first season with the club. Tamas was Cardiff Fire’s 2nd top point scorer last season and also finished 2nd top scorer in the league, ending the season with a goal per game average.
The speedy winger/Centre has an eye for goal and is also a PK specialist. Starting his UK hockey career in Swindon Tamas made the move over the bridge to Cardiff and the move has been a big success for him. In his first season at Cardiff under 18’s Tamas scored 41 points in just 16 games to lead the team in scoring. Tamas also got his first taste of senior hockey during this time playing in both the NIHL 1 and 2 teams as a teenager.
Tamas has played a lot of his junior hockey in the UK so he doesn’t count as an import for the Fire and is considered UK trained.
Mark Cuddihy Added “Its great bringing Tamas back to the club. This is a big year for him. He did great last year and he knows this is a massive step up, he’s worked very very hard in the gym and has put on quite a bit of size. His work rate is fantastic, he loves to put pressure on the D and is very effective on the PK. He knows where the net is and gets important goals through his his hard work and tenacity
There are still some areas of his game he wants to work on but he is young, at only 21. I want him to have a big season for us and push hard for one of the U23 spots. I’m sure he is going to do very well for us and I know he is relishing the challenge ahead”
Welcome back Tamas!!
