Elis Sheppard Back for 2019/20

last seasons players player of the year and coaches player of the year Ellis Sheppard returns for his 5th season with the Fire. 

Elis joined Cardiff Fire from Slough in our first year and his game has continued to grow each season. He picked up both the players player award and the coaches player award at the Cardiff Fire end of season awards night. Elis has played 101 games for Fire scoring 10 goals with 20 assists.

NIHL CONFIRM KEY DATES FOR NEW SEASON INCLUDING PLANS FOR PLAYOFF WEEKENDS IN ALL DIVISIONS
The National League Management Group (NLMG) are excited to announce the major dates for the forthcoming season, including the return of the NIHL Championship Series featuring no fewer than five Playoff Weekends.

League bosses have been working on the calendar for the last couple of weeks following input from clubs at the section meetings and the outcome is the schedule outlined below.

The regular season in NIHL 1 and NIHL 2 begins on Saturday September 7, while NIHL National faces off for their inaugural campaign on Saturday September 21.

In NIHL National the teams will wear light colours at home until December 21 when they will swap and wear their dark colours at home...

Fire to compete in the new NIHL D1 for the 2019/20 season

Cardiff Fire have accepted a position in the new D1 structure for the 2019/20 season. The new league will consist of three teams from last seasons D1 Invicta Dynamos, Streatham and Milton Keynes. The remaining teams will be Cardiff Fire, Slough Jets, Bracknell Hornets, Romford Raiders 2, Solent Devils, Oxford Stars and Chelmsford Chieftains. Making a ten team league. 

The new league structure is a result of the formation of the new National League, a league consisting of another 10 teams from the North and South, replacing the old EPL. 

NIHL 2 is also continuing to grow with the addition of some development teams to join the remaining teams from last seasons D2. Cardiff Fire are also exploring the chance of adding what will be a predominantly U23 team to the new D2 set up...
