Former Devil Hutchings returns

Former Cardiff Devils Elite League player Michael Hutchings is returning to Cardiff Fire for the 2018/19 season. 

‘Hutchy’ took time out from Hockey whilst paying in the Elite League for the Cardiff Devils to join the British Army where he served for 10 years. During his time away Hutchy played hockey for the British Army in the Uk and in Canada, additionally helping out the NIHL 1 team whilst on leave from the Army.

Last season Hutchy signed full time for Fire, starting the season in the Division 2 side before quickly stepping up to Division one and establishing himself as one of the top forwards on the team.

Jordan Powell back for more!!

Highly skilled forward Jordan Powell returns to the Fire line-up for the 2018/19 season. Another player that made the step up at 16 Jordan has improved year upon year. 

Cardiff trained Jordan has been ever present in Cardiff NIHL/ENL team over the last 10 years despite being only 26 years old. The speedy winger is known for his physical style of play, always finishing hits and playing with good aggression and another player just as comfortable on the Powerplay as Penalty kill. In the past few season Jordan has really added numbers to his game. Finishing as Cardiff Fire’s Division one top scorer last season.

Josh Haslam returns for new season 

Cardiff Fire’s 23 year old centerman Josh Haslam returns to the ice for the Fire for the 2018/19 season. 

Josh has spent his entire career in Cardiff and first broke into the ENL/NIHL teams as a 16 year old. Impressing at such a young age Josh became a full time senior player playing in Division 1 and 2 for the Cardiff NIHL/ENL teams. 

Josh played solely in Cardiff Fire’s Division 1 team last season, playing in all special team situations. Josh is known for scoring crucial goals at crucial points in the game. He has great speed and good face-off percentage. Josh has been working really hard this summer in readiness for the coming season where big things will be expected form him and he’s really keen to deliver for the club.
