Forwards Lewis Stevens and Cameron Basnett return to the Fire line up for the new season. This will be Lewis Stevens 3rd season with the Fire having joined in the 17/18 season having previously played in the Cardiff junior system.
23 year old Cameron Basnett will begin his 2nd season with Cardiff Fire, the Guildford trained player has also played for the Cardiff University team where he scored 41 points in 26 games.
Mark Cuddihy added “Both Cameron and Lewis are young players with good energy. Cameron played both forward ad defence last season and is comfortable in both positions. He’s good defensively and has a good hockey brain. He’s had good grounding in Guildford and puts maximum effort in every shift.
Lewis is a live-wire, he likes to play the game with a bit of an edge and enjoys the physical side of the game. He works hard and has made big improvements in his overall game in the last two years. He’s only 21 years old, he’s brings a lot of energy and he loves the game. Lewis is eligible to play in both the Fire 1 and 2 teams this season and is looking forward to playing as much hockey as he can”
Welcome back guys!!
