Cardiff Fire made the trip to Oxford to take on local rivals the Bristol Pitbulls. Looking to take the winning streak to 9 games.
The first period started slow with no continuation of the physical play from the previous game. It was Fire that opened the scoring through Hungarian Tamas Elias with the assist going to Jackson Price, it was the line of Elias, Haslam and Price that impressed this evening. It was that line again that put Fire 2 nil up This time through Jackson price and assists going to Haslam and Elias. Bristol got a goal back after 17mins through Olly Shone. First period ended 2-1 to the Fire.
A poor 2nd period by the Fire and lots of penalty trouble and Bristol capitalised with a Powerplay goal through former Cardiff NIHL player Jamie Newton. 2nd period ended 2-2. Fire also scored a perf
Fire needed to dig deep to get a result, not playing to the standard set from the previous games and dig deep we did. Fire started the period quick and back to the standards we are used to. A quick goal form Jordan Powell in the first shift set the tempo for the rest of the period. Robert Sedlak scored a 4th goal on a rare powerplay for the Fire on 57 mins to win the game for the Fire.
